The CBI System is a modular instrumentation system based on the units
which were originally developed by Craig
Hartley at Baylor University and subsequently
marketed by Valpey Fisher, Crystal Biotech, Harvard Apparatus,
Data Sciences and
Indus Instruments. Triton Technology has repackaged many of our well
known System 6
family of modules into the CBI format.
This gives users of older systems the opportunity to up-grade their systems
with newer
designs such as the Triton ARTT (ART2) Ultrasonic Volume Flowmeter Modules.
The CBI System encompasses a group of advanced cardiovascular measurement instruments
for use in acute and
chronic experimental preparations. Using high precision modular
building blocks housed in a compact chassis, the
physiologist can design a configuration
to meet the specific requirements of investigative protocols in his/her own
laboratory.
Chassis are available in several sizes: 6-Channel, 3-Channel and a very compact
2-Module chassis.
Several of the modules cover all the traditional measurement capabilities such as ECG,
heart rate and blood
pressure. But the true power of CBI System lies in the
innovative capabilities provided by the sonomicrometer, the
ART2 Volume Flowmeter and
Doppler Blood Flow Velocity units. All elements have been designed and developed
by
Triton's in-house team of design engineers.
The combination of precision-built transducers, reliable and accurate electronics, and
Triton's unparalleled support
guarantees your measurement success with the CBI System.

*****Cables and Accessories*****
The 3-Channel chassis is a compact housing which can support any of the CBI family of
modules including all the
Doppler instruments and the Sonomicrometers.
Channels 1 and 2 are specifically wired to accept the Doppler
Master and the
Sonomicrometer Master Modules. The enclosure provides power and output signal
connectivity for
up to three modular instruments. The 3-Channel Chassis is small,
totally self contained for ease of portability and
has a leather handle on the top.
It is ideal for use with ART2 flow modules, pressure amplifiers and EKG
modules.
Operates on all international line voltages and frequencies. Available in Blue color chassis.

This enclosure provides power and output signal connectivity for one or two modular
instruments. Similar in design
to the 3-Channel chassis, it delivers high-powered
cardiovascular instrumentation at unparalleled price-performance
in a compact enclosure.
In its stand-alone configuration, the dual instrument pack is ideal for use with
ART2 flow
modules, pressure amplifiers, Doppler Modules and EKG modules. This chassis
will not operate the
Sonomicrometer.
Operates on all international line voltages and frequencies. Available in Blue color chassis.
The 6-Channel Chassis is the most versatile of the CBI System Chassis.. This versatile
cardiovascular
instrumentation system can be user-configured for a wide variety of
experimental protocols.
The design philosophy for the CBI System allocates Channels 1 and 2 plug-in slots to
the system timing and
synchronization functions. The Doppler Master is required to
be in Slot 1 for all 'Doppler type' modules and
'Sonomicrometer type' modules.
In addition, if Sonomicrometer modules are to be installed, a Sonomicrometer
Master must be installed in Slot 2.
The Doppler and Sonomicrometer Masters are not required when only Transit Time Volume
Flow, Blood Pressure
Amplifiers, EKG, etc. are installed
The pulsed Doppler flow audio signal may be monitored on the rear panel speaker, controlled by a volume control.
The 6-Channel Chassis backpanel provides a patch field for outputs and inputs to all
the various module types.
These high level signals are designed for direct connection to
data logging or recording systems. Where appropriate
the signals are controlled by module
gain and offset controls. The Mainframe back panel also provides the
oscilloscope display
connections for proper Sonomicrometer operation.
Operates on all international line voltages and frequencies. Available in Blue color chassis.
