The Dual Pressure Amplifier Module is a precision bridge transducer amplifier and
regulated 5 volt DC bridge excitation source. The Model 204 will operate most implanted
pressure transducers (i.e. Konigsberg), pressure catheters (i.e. Millar) and
extracorporeal
gauges. There are two identical, independent amplifiers contained in the
module.
The Model 204 provides front panel adjustment for bridge balance. Calibration and zero
are generated with precision internal bridges and are selected with a front panel
RUN/Calibrate switch. The 'zero' output represents a balanced bridge and the calibrate
position represents 100 mm Hg when used with a5uV/V/mm Hg sensitivity gauge. The
calibration output can be used with other gauge sensitivities and the full-scale
calibration
value will be inversely proportional to 5uV/V/mm Hg divided by the actual
gauge factor.
The Model 204 provides both instantaneous and mean output signals. The output signals
are controlled by a set of front panel gain and offset controls which make it possible to
configure the module to drive chart recorders, tape recorders, A/D converters, etc.
