Develop first derivative of signal inputs such as Sonomicrometer dimension or Left Ventricular Pressure. Internal calibrator generates dX/dt calibration in physiological units. Generate Mean or running average from physiological signals.
The Differentiator / Mean Module is a general purpose signal conditioner for generating the first derivative of physiological signals. This module will generate a continuous derivative of Left Ventricular Pressure or the velocity of contraction from a Sonomicrometer signal.
The module also contains a four-pole 2-Hz averaging circuit to develop running Mean output of the input signal. The output could be Average Pressure or Average Dimension, for example.
An internal calibrator signal makes it possible to calibrate the derivative output in the same units as the input signal. Front panel Gain and Offset controls are provided for the Signal, the Calibrator and the Derivative outputs in order to configure the signals for chart recorder or A/D converters, etc. The Manual includes step-by-step instructions for the calibration procedure.
